 THANK YOU CANADA!

As the dust settles on the Mulli's whirlwind tour,  our most sincere of thanks to friends who supported the choir during their visit.   From the families who hosted the children to the individuals who signed up to sponsor a child, we cannot thank you enough for your selfless giving.  The tour would not have been possible without the generosity of a special friend of Charles who offered to fly the children to Canada.

And of course,  we would have accomplished nothing if it weren't for the hand of God.

We give thanks for the  way God cleared the path for the processing of the children's documents.  It was nothing short of miraculous.   We are grateful for last minute  doors that were opened to church communities  and amazed at how successful events were when little notice was given.   A prime example was the event at the North Toronto Chinese Alliance Church.  With 10 days notice we had no idea how many guests would attend.   We hoped for 100 guests and over 350  people showed up.

The collective voices of the choir spoke to people's hearts.  The individual testimonies from children who have survived the most horrific of circumstances  left an imprint that won't be forgotten soon.   Their stories of courage and faith inspired Canadians and gave many the courage and perspective to press through their personal difficulties.    The seeds have been planted and by the response of those who saw the performances, we look forward to a very successful tour this fall.

The African proverb states it takes a village to raise a child.   It took more than a village to organize the choir tour and to each one of you who served with excellence we thank you on behalf of  Charles, Esther, Mueni, Dickson, Mukwata, Mulwa, Alianda, Randu, Musyoka, Ogutu, Mwangala, Nyawera, Akinyi, Chemngeno, Amina, Kivinya, Mbula and the MCFCF family.

Visit the Oakville Beaver to read about a special event called 'A Mother's Heart' at Harvest Oakville, featuring Esther and Mueni.

If you missed them, don’t worry – they’re coming back with a bigger show!  This fall, a larger MCF choir of 20 children will be travelling across Canada as part of their North American Safari tour.  This fall tour will be longer and even more impressive, including karate demonstrations from the MCF team which is rated #1 in eastern and southern Africa.  From October 29 to December 19, the MCF choir will be performing across Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia.  We are excited to introduce more Canadians to the life-transforming work of MCF in Kenya and engage them in the growing network of Canadians who are committed to making a difference there.

For more information, tour dates and ways you can be a part of the North American Safari as a volunteer, billet or sponsor, please email Maureen Kehler maureen@mcfcf.ca or click here for more details.
